CONCEPT
Lucky Island Distillery is a family run business established by the Japanese American, Fukushima Family. They built their brand on the principle of family, deriving their name from the English translation of Fukushima. Pulling further from their Japanese culture, the distillery’s recognizable fish are a reference to koinobori, or carp streamers. In Japan, koinobori are flown during the month leading up to Children’s Day to symbolize and hope for the success and advancement of children. Each carp is representative of a family member with black and red traditionally reserved for the father and mother respectively. In Lucky Island’s brand, the founders three children are represented by their favorite colors.
